Tough Enough to Wear Pink coming to Hamel Rodeo
BUFFALO, Minn. 06/25/2009--
Buffalo Hospital Foundation is partnering with the Hamel Lions to elevate breast cancer awareness and raise funds to provide mammograms for uninsured women with a Tough Enough to Wear Pink event, Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hamel Rodeo. For tickets, visit www.hamelrodeo.org or stop by the Buffalo Hospital Gift Shop.
"A woman has a one in eight chance of breast cancer occurring during her life. These are our moms, wives, sisters, daughters and friends," says Karla Heeter, Buffalo Hospital Foundation executive director. "Mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early, but many women today don't have health insurance. Tough Enough to Wear Pink will help them by providing free mammograms during one of our Mammo Parties."
Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the Hamel Rodeo on Thursday, July 9, to celebrate those who have battled breast cancer, honor those who are currently fighting and remember those we miss. The Tough Enough to Wear Pink tent will be open during all five rodeo performances, so stop by and pick up a commemorative t-shirt and participate in the silent auction. Proceeds from shirt and hat sales and the silent auction will help provide screenings to women in hope of catching cancer early when it's most treatable.
Buffalo Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with the Hamel Lions and Hamel Rodeo on this life-saving endeavor.
