Allina's integrative medicine program called national model

The Penny George Institute for Health and Healing director, Lori Knutson, RN, BSN, HN-BC, is listed as one of the top 10 people in integrative health care for 2009 by The Integrator Blog, an influential web publication on integrative health care and medicine professionals. The Integrator also called the George Institute, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, the most significant integration initiative in the United States.
"Under the compelling leadership of Knutson, one of Allina's hospitals, Abbott Northwestern, marked its 60,000th inpatient integrative visit this fall," wrote publisher and editor John Weeks. "Knutson is leading what will be a model for the nation."

Penny George Institute for Health and Healing provides integrative medicine for hospitalized patients and at an outpatient clinic. Inpatient services include massage, healing touch and acupuncture. Outpatient staff includes wellness coaches, medical doctors and a naturopathic physician.
